A Nuffield Farming Scholarship is one of the most valued and prestigious awards in New Zealand’s primary sector.

Each year up to five scholarships are awarded to bold, curious, innovative, perceptive and community-minded individuals from backgrounds ranging from farming, industry bodies, catchment groups, agricultural research, food and fibre innovations hubs.

Fruitfed Supplies Horticultural Scholarship
The Fruitfed Supplies Horticultural Scholarship is for third year student student studying an undergraduate degree in horticulture. You will have a passion for the horticultural industry.
The Fruitfed Supplied Horticulture Scholarship was established in 2019 by Fruitfed Supplies (part of PGG Wrightson Ltd). Fruitfed Supplies has provided technical products and services to New Zealand growers for more than 100 years, and wishes to support future leaders and promote excellence in the horticultural industry.

Glad McArthur Horticultural Scholarship
The Glad McArthur Horticultural Scholarship Open to students from the Central Otago region, who are intending to study in areas relating to Horticulture at a New Zealand tertiary institution.
Applicants must have attended a Central Otago High School for a minimum of three years, or whose home is in Central Otago and have attended boarding school, or who have been residing in Central Otago for a minimum of five years.

HortNZ Postgraduate Scholarship
Every year Horticulture New Zealand offer one scholarship to a postgraduate student studying in New Zealand. This scholarship is offered to students undertaking postgraduate study because innovation and tackling challenges head-on is critical to the horticulture industry's future success.
This scholarship is valued at $10,000 and is awarded to a student undertaking postgraduate study in horticulture or a related field.

New Zealand Fruitgrowers Charitable Trust Postgraduate Scholarship
Every year the New Zealand Fruitgrowers Charitable Trust offer one scholarship to a postgraduate student studying in New Zealand. This scholarship is offered to students undertaking postgraduate study because innovation and tackling challenges head-on is critical to the horticulture industry's future success.
This scholarship is valued at $10,000 and is awarded to a student undertaking postgraduate study specifically related to the fruit industry.

HortNZ and the Horticentre Trust Undergraduate Scholarships
Every year Horticulture New Zealand and the Horticentre Trust offer scholarships to students who have a special interest in the fruit and/or vegetable industry and are studying towards an undergraduate degree.
Sixteen Horticulture Undergraduate Scholarships are available in 2024. Thirteen of these scholarships are valued at $1,500 with nine awarded to applicants from each of New Zealand's growing regions (one applicant from each region will be selected) as follows:
- Northland
- Auckland/Waikato
- Bay of Plenty
- Tairawhiti Gisborne
- Hawke’s Bay
- Lower North Island
- Tasman (including Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast)
- Canterbury
- Otago and Southland
The remaining four Horticulture Undergraduate Scholarships will be awarded nationally.
Applicants must be a tertiary student studying towards an undergraduate degree in any discipline.

Lois Turnbull Postgraduate Scholarship
The Lois Turnbull Postgraduate Scholarship was set up with funds provided by Dr Lois V. Turnbull, a former Massey University agriculture student. Dr Turnbull was encouraged to undertake postgraduate studies because she received scholarship support.
This is a postgraduate scholarship for a woman who is studying a master's degree or PhD with a focus on agriculture or horticulture.

Noeleen Olson Horticultural Masters Scholarship
The Noeleen Olsson Horticultural Masters Scholarship is for a New Zealand citizen who is enrolled in a master's degree in horticultural science at Massey University.
Noeleen Olson graduated from Massey University with a BA (Humanities) in 1970. Noeleen was a school teacher for all her working life and retired from teaching in 1988 after 28 years at Roslyn Primary School, Palmerston North. While she loved children and teaching, she had a life-long passion for horticulture and was a founding member of Palmerston North’s horticultural society.
